Also, I'm in Japan with a Softbank iPhone but still can't register on Mixi...even with my friend's invite. I guess Mixi won't register an iPhone address, huh? Boo & boo! Hello.

I'll fix that link. I'd no reason to believe it was a spammy site. It seemed like a personal site that the user has now stopped. It's still registered to someone in Kyoto according to a Whois lookup. Unfortunately I don't know the process of setting up a mixi account since they introduced the phone email requirement. Perhaps the iPhone address doesn't look sufficiently Japanese so it's being blocked by a script. I'd suggest getting a Japanese friend in tow and heading off to an Apple store to see if a Genius(tm) can help you out. Or maybe Softbank can give you another (free) email account with a .jp domain?
